European football is back. The 2026–27 La Liga season opens Saturday, August 15, with Alavés hosting Getafe. Matchday one is staggered this season (clubs with players in the World Cup semifinals were allowed to postpone) with reigning champions Barcelona beginning their title defense August 27, at home to Athletic Club. Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham line up together again for Real Madrid. On the live 2026–27 La Liga winner market, Barcelona led around 54%, Real Madrid near 41%, and Atlético far back near 4%, on roughly $2.0M traded as of mid-August.
The UEFA Champions League picks up in early September; the league-phase Matchday 1 runs September 8–10. The 2027 Champion market is unusually tight: PSG and Barcelona near 14.5%, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich near 13.5%, and Arsenal and Manchester City near 12.5%, with defending champions PSG among the co-leaders as of mid-August.
For a faster clock, there's Bitcoin: Up or Down, a five-minute market that resolves on whether BTC closes above or below where it sat five minutes earlier. As of Aug 14, Bitcoin was trading around $63,000 on MetaMask, roughly 50% below its record high of $126,080 set October 6, 2025.

Unitree. The Hangzhou humanoid-robot maker set its Shanghai STAR Market IPO price at 150.80 yuan a share — implying an estimated market cap near 61 billion yuan, or roughly $8.5–9 billion. If the listing completes, Unitree would become the first A-share-listed company focused on humanoid-robot manufacturing. A pre-IPO Unitree market is available on MetaMask perps.
S&P 500. The index set a fresh record on Thursday, closing at 7,798.99 on August 13 and clearing 7,800 intraday for the first time, after a softer-than-expected July Producer Price Index.
WTI crude. WTI was trading near $81 a barrel in mid-August (as of Aug 13), easing from the prior week's highs after the IEA and OPEC each trimmed demand forecasts and US crude inventories posted a large weekly build.
